Menlo Lacrosse Goalie Logs 15 Saves

Knights come home after brilliant tug-of-war.

The Menlo School boys' lacrosse team engaged in a tug-of-war with Redwood of Larkspur, eventually falling 13-12 in a non-league match Tuesday on the road.

The Knights scored with 39 seconds left to narrow the lead to one, but the Giants held on for the win. It was a "great game against an excellent, well-coached team," Menlo coach Todd Blumbergs said. "It was back and forth the entire game."

Goalie Luc McNally logged 15 saves for Menlo.

"Luc McNally was terrific and showed what he's been capable of all season," Blumbergs added. "Fifteen saves- seven of which were point-blank stops. Very proud of him."

Nick Schultz poured in six goals and had an assist. Wiley Osborne recorded two goals, five assists and four ground balls. Ryan Grzejka added two more goals.

The Knights (7-9) play Palo Alto at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
