Palo Alto PD Hunting Downtown Flasher

The man knocked on the car window of the female victim as she was parked on High Street.

Police are asking for help finding a man who followed a woman and then exposed himself to her Friday evening in downtown Palo Alto, police said.

The incident occurred at about 8:30 p.m. on High Street south of city parking garage ā€œRā€ at 528 High Street, according to police. The victim reported to police she wasn’t sure where she was when the incident occurred, police said.

Dispatchers received a call from the victim, who is in her 30s, at about 9:50 p.m., according to police. Officers said the victim was walking in the 100 block of University Avenue when she saw the man following her.

She walked to the parking garage with the man following her and got in her car, police said.

The man stopped near the garage stairwell as she drove away, according to police. The victim drove south on High Street for a few blocks and stopped to program her GPS when she heard a knock on the driver’s side front window, police said. The suspect was standing next to her door and exposed himself, according to police.

The victim screamed and tried to drive away and the suspect continued to expose himself, police said.

The woman drove home and called police. Officers are describing the suspect as a white man, in his mid 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build and medium-length brown hair, police said.

He was wearing dark-colored shorts and a light-colored T-shirt, according to police. Detectives are looking into whether the incident is related to other indecent exposure incidents in the Palo Alto area, police said.
