Want to be on Menlo Park's City Council? Filing Period Opens Soon

The city clerk says the city council candidate filing period will open July 18.

Menlo Park, CA– Candidates interested in vying for a spot on Menlo Park's city council can officially put their bid in beginning July 18.

Two members will be elected to the council on Nov. 8, to serve four-year terms expiring in Dec. 2020.

According to the city, the nomination period opens on Monday, July 18 at 7:30 a.m. It closes on Aug. 12, unless an incumbent decides not to file.

"In the event an incumbent does not file by 5:00 p.m. on August 12, the filing period will be extended to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2016," the city says.

Candidates are encouraged to attend both a candidate and voter data seminar. Those are scheduled as follows: (choose one of each)
