• Construction starts for replacement station for 60-year-old fire station in San Bernardino (sbsun.com) — Mentone residents are served by the same county fire division that’s now investing $13.76 million in a modern replacement for aging Fire Station 227 in San Bernardino, aiming to improve response times across the East Valley. Construction has begun on the larger facility, which will house upgraded engines and a future squad, with completion expected by June 2027 while current services continue uninterrupted.
