Central County Fire Department Deployed To Suppress Wildfires In San Mateo County And Salinas

CCFD is holding these engines in reserve pending any immediate need within its service area.

Currently, fire fighters from the Central County Fire Department (CCFD) are deployed to suppress wildfires in San Mateo County and Salinas. CCFD has five Engines and a Battalion Chief (Strike Team Leader) deployed as part of the San Mateo County Strike Team. CCFD has also deployed two Engine companies and one Battalion Chief to the River Fire just south of Salinas.

Yesterday, CCFD crews were on duty and worked with another Strike Team from San Bernardino. CCFD crews are working a 24 hour on and 24 hours off rotation but need to be available to respond within minutes if needed when they are “off.”

CCFD has one more engine company in quarters that may be utilized as part of a San Mateo County Strike Team for the CZU Lightning Complex fire. CCFD is holding these engines in reserve pending any immediate need within its service area.
