City Of Millbrae: 10-Digit Dialing

Are you having trouble getting your calls to go through? As of October 24, 2021, all local calls made by cell phone or landline in area code 650 require 10-Digit dialing. Three-digit dialing such as 9-1-1 remains the same. The change is in preparation for using 9-8-8 on the abbreviated dialing code for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline that will be active as of July 16, 2022. 

The FCC last year established 9-8-8 as an easy-to-remember three-digit number for individuals seeking help from the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Currently, callers can reach the 24/7 national hotline by phoning the 10-digit number: 1-800-273-8255 (TALK).
