The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors recently approved a new round of grants to help small businesses that have not received any assistance from the County, State, or Federal COVID-19-relief programs in the past 12 months.

The Small Business Grant Program will provide grants of up to $10,000 to each qualifying establishment to offset losses in revenue and past debt due to the COVID-19 pandemic state shutdown orders beginning in March 2020, ensure continued operation, and assist in covering current business operating expenses.

The funding must be used to ensure continued operation or assist in covering current business operating expenses, including, for example: current or past rent, payroll and other ongoing obligations.

San Mateo County Strong Fund Small Business Grant applications can be found at www.smcstrong.org. The application portal is scheduled to open on Monday, August 16, 2021, at 8:00 a.m. and will remain open until Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 5:00 p.m.
