UPDATE: With the high number of persons getting the flu, blood donations are way down. If you can, now your blood donation would be very important.

This New Year's, Blood Centers of the Pacific is challenging YOU to donate at least one more time in 2018 than you did in 2017.

All it would take is one additional blood donation from each eligible donor and we can say goodbye to blood shortages. Don't wait for a tragedy to donate blood. Every day people receive transfusions; cancer patients, trauma patients, premature babies, and sickle cell patients, just to name a few.

There is no substitute for blood...the one and the only place it can come from is YOU.

As the winter season continues, blood donations are especially needed. Donations typically decline this time of year, as many regular donors are impacted by seasonal illnesses and travel.

There is no better resolution to make this New Year's than to help save lives.

Give the gift of life and help give patients another year with their loved ones.

Make an appointment to donate blood atbloodcenters.org or 888-393-GIVE.

We wish you and yours a happy and prosperous 2018.

Nicole Anderson, Regional Director, Blood Centers of the Pacific
