Drought Radio Station Will Help You Time Your Showers
The new "Water Lovers Station" on Pandora includes 100 five-minute songs to help you keep your showers short.

As the saying goes, music can soothe the most savage beast, but now it can also save water.
The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California announced today it is turning to music as a way of encouraging people to conserve water during the stateβs continuing drought, by creating an Internet radio station that offers five-minute songs for people to time their showers.
The βWater Lovers Stationβ on Pandora and Spanish-language Uforia streaming-music services will offer a variety of tunes -- many with water or rain themes, that people can use to time their showers.

βSomeone can pick their favorite song from the list, press play, turn on the shower and finish before the song ends,β MWD General Manager Jeffrey Kightlinger said. βWhether you use the songs to time your shower or to listen at work, we are hoping this list will be a fun way to keep the importance of water conservation top of mind.β
The Pandora Internet radio playlist includes about 100 songs, including Adeleβs βSet Fire to the Rain,β Simon & Garfunkelβs βBridge Over Troubled Water,β Princeβs βPurple Rainβ and Creedence Clearwater Revivalβs βHave You Ever Seen the Rain.β
