Man ID'd in Deadly Millbrae Hit-and Run

BREAKING: Coroner's officials have publicly identified the victim.

MILLBRAE, CA – A man who died after he was hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross a Peninsula street this week has been publicly identified. Rohan Ramesh Dargad died following the Tuesday night incident in Millbrae, according to the San Mateo County Coroner's Office.

Dargad, who was a resident of Chicago, was 30, according to the agency.

Sheriff's officials reported Dargad was walking eastbound in a crosswalk when he was hit by a southbound vehicle on El Camino Real around 8:40 p.m. He died at an area hospital at 9:25 p.m., coroner's officials said.

The driver who hit the man fled the scene, sheriff's officials said.

"Investigators are looking for a small silver or light colored SUV similar to Toyota RAV4 with some type of visible damage," sheriff's Det. Sal Zuno said.
