Millbrae Deputies And Fire Fighters Respond To Structure Fire On Hemlock Avenue
All residents have been displaced and are receiving services from the Red Cross while temporary housing solutions are worked on.

On Monday, April 27, at 12:36 p.m., Millbrae Police Bureau deputies of the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office and the Central County Fire Department were dispatched to the apartment complex at 1007 Hemlock Avenue for a structure fire. Millbrae Police Bureau deputies assisted Central County Firefighters with the evacuation of tenants. A 3 alarm response from the Central County Fire Department, San Bruno Fire Department, and the South San Francisco Fire Department contained and extinguished the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

During the evacuation, Deputy Edgar Manilla assisted a resident escaping with her two small children. Deputy Manilla returned and assisted two elderly residents in escaping and remained at the complex to help. Deputy Manilla was later transported to Mills Peninsula Hospital for smoke inhalation.
All residents have been displaced and are receiving services from the Red Cross while temporary housing solutions are worked on in collaboration with the property management company.
