Make sure to give your tomatoes some support if you haven’t done so already. Cages, poles, whatever you can.

Be sure to water hanging plants and check them often. Especially with our Millbrae wind that takes the moisture out of the plants.

If you prepared your soil and fertilizer before planting, you should be fine. If you need to fertilize, be sure not to over do it on the nitrogen, which is the first ingredient in the N-P-K ratio list on packages. Nitrogen is great for greenery, but not for fruiting.

If you are growing basil, be sure to pinch off the flowers so it doesn’t go to seed, which can happen fast.

Deadhead flowers to prolong and get more blooms. That is, cut off the dead flowers.

Last but not least, pick you zucchini before it gets humongous, which happens quickly! There is always the option of stuffed zucchini.

Happy gardening!
