In response to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak, San Mateo County, along with five other Bay Area counties, has announced a shelter-in-place order.
All Millbrae residents will need to remain at home except for essential needs starting at midnight tonight (12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2020).

This order will also be carried out in Santa Clara, San Francisco, San Mateo, Marin, Contra Costa and Alameda counties.
Essential government services will remain open, such as police, fire and healthcare services.
Millbrae City Hall will remain open via telephone and virtual service, but City facilities will be closed to the public.
In addition, grocery stores, markets, pharmacies, banks, and gas stations will remain open.
Meals on Wheels will continue to deliver food to recipients, and food banks will remain open for donations and pick-ups.
Restaurants will be limited to take-out and delivery only. Bars, gyms and other non-essential stores will be closed.
BART has announced that it will continue regular service during the shelter-in-place order.
While people will still be able to go to work, employers have been asked to reduce their operations to essential staff only.
Outdoor exercise away from others is permitted.
For those who will not be able to work, the California Employment Development Department is waiving the seven-day waiting period to claim unemployment benefits. More details on unemployment benefits can be found at https://www.edd.ca.gov/about_edd/coronavirus-2019.htm.
The order is expected to last through April 7, 2020.
