New Water Conservation Program In Millbrae

The Lawn Be Gone! Rebate Program is now available to help Millbrae residents convert their lawns into water-wise landscaping using native and drought tolerant plants. The benefits of replacing lawns include reducing outdoor water use and beautifying your landscape.

To qualify, the lawn area being converted must be maintained and in healthy condition, and be irrigated by a sprinkler system in good working condition using potable water.

Rebates are offered at a $1.00 per square foot of lawn replaced with native and water-wise plants for a maximum total of 1,000 square feet. A minimum of 200 square feet of lawn must be converted. The rebate covers plants and other direct costs.

The chosen plants must be on the BAWSCA approved plant list (artificial turf is not eligible for a rebate).
