Woman Accused In Peninsula Carside Holdup, Assault
Police say a woman was sitting in her car when she was approached by the suspect on foot.

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA β A San Mateo woman was arrested on suspicion of robbing a woman in her car in South San Francisco on Friday, police reported.
A woman was sitting in her car in the 400 block of C Street at 6:26 p.m. when another woman approached the car and began banging on the window and shaking the car, police said.
When the woman opened the car door, the suspect assaulted the woman, stole her property and fled the scene in a red van, police said.

The victim did not suffer any injuries in the assault.Fifteen minutes later, a South San Francisco resident reported a suspicious red van in the 100 block of B Street.
Police responded to the scene and located Rosa Vargas, who was identified by the witness as the suspect in the earlier robbery.

Vargas was arrested and booked into San Mateo County Jail on bail of $50,000.
