MARIN COUNTY, CA – Four people were rescued from a sinking boat off the coast of Marin County on the Fourth of July, officials said.
The sheriff's marine unit was patrolling Richardson Bay when they heard a "Mayday Mayday" call on the radio from the Raccoon Strait area between Angel Island and Belvedere, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office.
Four people were aboard the boat, which was taking on water after the engine died. A fisherman, who made the Mayday call, rescued two people from the boat. The marine unit rescued the other two people, a husband and wife, by pumping water from the boat, officials said.
