What Bay Area Hikers, Bikers, Swimmers and Campers Should Know This Winter (kqed.org) — Mill Valley's frequently flooded Sausalito-Mill Valley path and nearby parks could see even worse winter flooding this year as El Niño, King Tides, and a Kelvin wave stack higher water levels. Local hikers, bikers, swimmers, and campers are urged to watch tide forecasts, expect temporary trail or park closures, and double-check campground status before heading out, especially around low-lying marshes and bayfront areas.
   

• California Just Kneecapped the Montana LLC Trick. Dodge the Tax Now and the Bill Follows You Home. (theautowire.com) — Mill Valley shows up on a state list of cities where dealers helped residents use out-of-state shell companies to dodge California vehicle taxes, and a new law now lets tax officials bill individual owners directly. If you're driving a Montana-plated or similarly registered car mainly in California, you could face back taxes, interest, and penalties even if the LLC technically owns the vehicle.
