Bay Area Sports Stars Shine at Wender Weis Foundation for Children's Sixth Annual Holiday Heroes Extravaganza

Bay Area Athletes Join Holiday Spectacular at AT&T Park to Raise Funds for Local Charities and Inspire Youth to Reach for Their Dreams

WHAT: Wender Weis Foundation for Children (WWFC) presents its sixth annual Holiday Heroes event, an extraordinary experience for children, enabling them to create holiday memories that last a lifetime.

WHO: Current and former Bay Area athletes scheduled to attend include:

San Francisco 49ers Eric Heitmann, Shayne Skov and Michael Wilhoite, Oakland Raider Justin Tuck and US Olympians Johnny Moseley, Kristi Yamaguchi and Bret Hedican.

WWFC will also present its third annual Inspiration Award to US Olympians Kristi Yamaguchi and Bret Hedican to recognize the positive impact they have made on Bay Area communities through Yamaguchi’s Always Dream Foundation.

Plus, more than 700 children (including 300 from WWFC’s benefiting organizations), their families and supporters are expected to attend.

$100 – Sponsor one child from a beneficiary organization

$250 – Sponsor a family from a beneficiary organization

BENEFICIARIES: Giants Community Fund, 49ers Foundation, Warriors Community Foundation, Always Dream Foundation, UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, R.U.S.H. for Literacy, Fit Kids, and the Charlotte and Gwenyth Gray Foundation. Sponsored children from the aforementioned charities plus Compass Family Services, InnVision Shelter Network (First Step for Families, San Mateo), Raphael House, San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center, and BAWSI will also attend.

Bay Area-based Wender Weis Foundation for Children (WWFC) is a nonprofit organization committed to encouraging underserved and low-income children throughout the San Francisco Bay Area in order to help them develop their confidence and self-esteem.
