WHAT:

There’s a four letter word that often gets lost in translation in social media. That word is K-I-N-D. With 92 percent of teens online each day, it’s not suprising that communication oftens breaks down and online cruelty surfaces. In honor of National Be Kind Online Day, Beyond Differences and the Marin County Office of Education present a two-hour event with experts on online safety to talk about ways to keep teens safe online and experience healthy, positive relationships with their peers. Keynote speakers will answer questions that most parents, teens and educators have swirling in their minds about Yik Yak, Snap Chat, Kik, Instagram, Facebook, Periscope, Ask.fm, Vine and more. This free event is open to parents, teachers, middle school and high school students and families.
