501 Throckmorton Ave. - The Klyce Home
The 2013 annual walk into history, hosted by the Mill Valley Historical Society will consist of a loop around Cascade Canyon. This is the second in a series of articles, giving a tease on some of the homes the guest walkers will see.
501 Throckmorton Ave was built in 1900. The original owner and contractor was the legendary Harvey Klyce.

Mr. Klyce was born in Tennessee and came to California where he made Mill Valley his home. He eventually had a very successful contracting business in Mill Valley where he was responsible for the building of many Mill Valley homes. His son, Melvin, later moved into the house and he too had children who went into the family business.

Take the Mill Valley history walk on May 26th and learn much more the Klyce family, about this home, and many other homes in Cascade canyon.
The History walk groups will form at the Outdoor Art Club on Sunday, May 26, 2013. Guests will be shuttle bused up to and from home at 565 Throckmorton, known as “Burlwwood”.
