The artist and songwriter Michelle will reflect on the experiences she has been through, from the rigid and committed work as a classical violinist and singer during her early days in Northern California, to the happy and festive Celtic music honed in Scotland. From the structured sounds of the classrooms at Berklee School of Music in Boston to the years spent perfecting her storytelling on the stages of the Honky Tonks in Nashville, Michelle has emerged as the professional entertainer guaranteed to please audiences of all ages. This summer, Acterra is proud to present the 2026 Marin Green@Home Tours! This is a free, community-powered event that invites the public to explore innovative, electrified homes. On Saturday, August 29th, from 11AM to 3PM, explore homes throughout Marin County, ranging from new construction to those transitioning away from gas. Gain valuable insights from tour hosts on appliance selection, contractor decisions, installation processes, tax credits, and incentives, making your transition to electric living informed and cost-effective.
Attendees will have the chance to see firsthand a wide variety of electric appliances and environmentally-conscious home upgrades, including energy-efficient heat pumps for heating and cooling, heat pump water heaters, induction cooktops, rainwater catchments, compost bins, electric vehicles (EVs), solar panels, battery storage systems, and more. Guide Dogs For The Blind Inc

Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB) will celebrate its guide dog team graduates every other Saturday with public graduation ceremonies at the organization’s campus in San Rafael. These touching public events have inspired tears in even the most stoic audience members, as graduating guide dog teams proudly take the stage. Families are welcome at the ceremonies, which honor the enhanced safety, independence, and companionship that GDB’s guide dogs provide for GDB’s clients who are blind or visually impaired. The events also allow GDB’s clients to meet the puppy raisers who cared for their dogs prior to beginning formal training at GDB’s campus. Ceremonies also recognize recent graduates of GDB’s Orientation andMobility (O&amp;M) Program and K9 Buddy Program, as well as newly placed Breeder Dogs.

Admission is free, and Kleenex will be provided. Pre-registered bus groups are welcome. Public tours of the campus are offered on the days of the ceremonies. Headlining this year’s festival is&nbsp;cinematic folk-rock&nbsp;troubadour&nbsp;Father John Misty&nbsp;performing with his full band. Joining the lineup are&nbsp;beloved harmony-driven indie rockers Guster,&nbsp;Talking Heads co-founder and new wave visionary&nbsp;Jerry Harrison&nbsp;and his&nbsp;50 Years of Talking Heads&nbsp;project, dreamy surf-noir psych-rockers&nbsp;La Luz,&nbsp;and&nbsp;irresistible Bay Area funk ensemble Angeline Saris &amp; The Snack Machine.

Staged at the historic 4,000-seat Mountain Theater atop Mount Tamalpais,&nbsp;Sound Summit&nbsp;combines world-class music with a mission to support and preserve the mountain’s natural resources. Produced annually by&nbsp;Roots &amp; Branches Conservancy,&nbsp;the festival has raised more than $300,000 over the past decade for&nbsp;Mount Tamalpais State Park, helping fund trail restoration, historic preservation, fire prevention, water conservation, visitor services, emergency preparedness, and other vital park initiatives.

“Staging the event in this remarkable perch high above the Bay each year is a continually nourishing adventure,” says Sound Summit founder and festival producer&nbsp;Michael Nash. “I’m always impressed by our spirited crowd who makes their way up the mountain for a day unlike anything down on the ground. Sound Summit is excited to welcome back perennial emcees&nbsp;Brian Murphy and Paul McCaffrey&nbsp;(longtime KNBR radio duo known as&nbsp;Murph &amp; Mac&nbsp;from 2006 to 2023) and&nbsp;Tim Lynch, host of KPFA’s Dead to the World.&nbsp;Andy Cabic&nbsp;of Vetiver returns as the all-day DJ, spinning tunes and setting the vibe between sets.

<a href="https://www.mvfaf.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">The Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival</a>, one of Northern California’s most beloved outdoor arts traditions, returns to Old Mill Park&nbsp;beneath the towering redwoods on September 19 and 20, 2026, celebrating its 69th annual event with a vibrant weekend of fine art, live music, family programming, and community connection.
Held daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the festival transforms historic Old Mill Park&nbsp;near the heart of downtown Mill Valley&nbsp;into an immersive gathering place where visitors can explore original works from 135 juried artists, enjoy eclectic live performances, discover interactive art experiences, and celebrate the enduring spirit of creativity that has defined the event for nearly seven decades.
Founded in 1957 by a small group of artists exhibiting artwork in downtown store windows, the Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival has evolved into a cherished cultural institution recognized as one of the premier art festivals and community events in Marin. Today, the festival continues to honor its roots while supporting future generations of artists through scholarships, mentorship, and expanded nonprofit programming.
At the center of the festival are 135 juried fine artists showcasing exceptional artwork spanning painting, jewelry, sculpture, photography, textiles, woodworking, ceramics, mixed media, and more. Each year, artists are selected by an independent jury, creating a diverse and high-quality exhibition that reflects the richness of the contemporary arts community. The artist selection will be announced in early July.
Festival-goers are encouraged to meet artists in person, explore their creative process, and purchase one-of-a-kind works directly from the makers themselves.
The festival’s celebrated main stage will once again feature a fantastic lineup of local and regional musicians performing throughout the weekend. Drawing on deep roots in the Bay Area music scene, the festival presents a vibrant mix of genres and generations, from emerging young performers to legendary artists spanning bluegrass, rock, Americana, jam band, jazz, soul, folk, and beyond. The Emerging Artist Program provides early-career artists (particularly local high school and college students) with the opportunity to exhibit and sell their work at a major festival. Scholarships are awarded to 12 Marin County visual arts students, with artwork featured on festival merchandise and exhibited during the event.
