Flooding Closes Mill Valley Roads Again As High Tides Continue: Police
Two roads that had reopened are closed again as elevated tides bring renewed flooding to the area.
MILL VALLEY, CA — Flooding shut down two Marin County roads again Tuesday, a day after floodwaters receded and both routes reopened, according to Mill Valley police.
Drivers were urged to avoid Miller Avenue between Camino Alto and Almonte Boulevard, along with the west side of Redwood Highway Frontage Road between Hamilton Drive and the southbound U.S. Highway 101 off/on-ramp.
Both closures require traffic to detour until floodwaters recede, police said shortly after noon on Tuesday.

The same roads flooded Monday, when police reported closures before announcing at 3 p.m. that water levels had receded and both routes were open again.
The renewed closures come amid unusually high tides that have caused flooding in low-lying parts of Marin County.

High tides forecast to reach elevated levels through the week prompted police to warn of possible flooding and temporary road closures.
Recent water levels had been running about a foot above predictions, increasing the risk even where tides alone would not typically cause significant flooding.
Motorists should avoid barricaded roads and never drive through floodwater, which can conceal hazards and cause vehicles to stall, authorities said.
