Free 'Tipsy Tows' Available On New Year's Eve In NorCal

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA – AAA is making sure drivers end 2018 responsibly and start 2019 safely. The company is offering its free Tipsy Tow service on New Year's Eve in Northern California.

"AAA wants motorists to send off 2018 on a high note by ringing in the New Year safely," said Michael Blasky, spokesman for AAA Northern California.

"We urge New Year's Eve revelers to have a sober ride home lined up before the ball drops. If those plans fall through, AAA's Tipsy Tow will not only provide a safe ride home for you and a passenger, but we'll get your vehicle home safely, too."

The service will be available from 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, through 6 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, in Northern California. It is available for anyone – not just for existing AAA members.

To use the service, call 1-800-AAA-HELP or 1-800-222-4357 and ask for a "tipsy tow." The service includes a free ride home and vehicle tow of up to 10 miles.

Motorists will be charged a standard towing rate for towing beyond 10 miles. The service does not include roadside assistance.
