Gas Can Points to Attempted Arson in Mill Valley: Police
The incident involving possibly three suspects was reported at 3:15 a.m. Monday, according to Mill Valley police.

Mill Valley, CA — Three male suspects — possibly in their late teens — were being sought Monday in connection with an attempted arson, Mill Valley police said.
At about 3:15 a.m. Monday, residents in the area of Alta Vista and Mesa avenues reported seeing what appeared to be "three older teenage boys" light a flammable material near a gas can in the street, according to a statement from the Mill Valley Police Department.
Witnesses told police that the trio, who were all wearing khaki- or tan-colored pants, ran away from the area toward East Blithedale Avenue.

When officers arrived to the scene, they found a gasoline canister near a burn mark on the roadway, according to the police statement.
There was no additional damage to nearby property.

"It is not known what the intended target or intent of this incident was," police Chief Angel Bernal said in the statement, encouraging anyone with information in the case to contact police by calling 415-389-4100.
