Goodman's Draws Packed House for 60th Anniversary Celebration of Late Owner

"A store like this doesn't stay around for 60 years by accident or luck," Mill Valley Mayor Ken Wachtel said during the plaque ceremony.

Great discounts, free food, live music and a chance to celebrate its 60th Anniversary made Goodman Building Supply a heck of a lot more crowded than a typical Wednesday afternoon this week. The checkout lines and aisles of Mill Valley’s hardware store were packed Wednesday afternoon for a dedication of a plaque in honor of the late longtime owner Richard Harris, as well as the unveiling of a painting of Harris by his granddaughter Segall Govrin.
