Homeless Man Arrested For Allegedly Groping Girl In Mill Valley Whole Foods Market

MILL VALLEY, CA – A homeless man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly groping a teenage girl at a Mill Valley grocery market, police said.

According to the Mill Valley Police Department, the incident occurred around 8:20 p.m. at the Whole Foods Market on East Blithedale Avenue. The man allegedly confronted the 15-year-old girl, grabbed her arms and touched her “inappropriately,” said police Sgt. Steven Heisinger.

The girl pulled herself away and found her father elsewhere in the store. The father and other witnesses tried to detain the man until police arrived, but the suspect fled in his car.

James Dominic Stratta, a 55-year-old transient with a previous address in Santa Maria, was later located and arrested. He was booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of sexual battery, false imprisonment and child harassment. According to public records, bail was set at $25,000.
