House Engulfed in Flames in Tamalpais Valley Fire: Photos

The Southern Marin Fire District is investigating a single-family house fire that erupted in the Tamalpais Valley area Monday morning.

The fire at 1201 Waterview Drive was reported around 11 a.m.

Twenty firefighters from several agencies responded within six minutes and quickly prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent homes, the Southern Marin Fire Protection District said.

It was uncertain if anyone was in the home, and the Marin County Sheriff's Office helped determine the occupants were not home at the time.

Marin County Fire, Southern Marin Fire Protection District and the Mill Valley, Corte Madera and Larkspur fire departments also responded to the blaze. The cause is under investigation.
