Injured Hiker Hoisted To Safety From Mount Tamalpais
CHP officials said the woman had slipped on the wet trail and fell about 40 feet.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – A helicopter crew hoisted a hiker to safety over the weekend after she was injured on a trail on Mount Tamalpais.
A helicopter crew with the California Highway Patrol responded to a call around 3 p.m. Saturday from someone who said a 22-year-old woman was injured on Steep Ravine Trail on Mount Tamalpais in Marin County.
CHP officials said the woman had slipped on the wet trail and fell about 40 feet. She sustained major injuries in the fall. Because of her location, a helicopter was needed to rescue her.

Marin County firefighters prepared the women to be hoisted about 165 feet to the helicopter. Once she was hoisted, the crew took her to a landing area where they prepared her to be taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.
