An afternoon of games and fun celebrating Ivy + Bean Day with Annie Barrows at Diesel, A Bookstore in Larkspur on Sunday, Oct. 19th at 2pm

Diesel, A Bookstore in Larkspur invites children to celebrate Ivy + Bean Day with Annie Barrows on Sunday, October 19th at 2 pm.
Ivy and Bean have millions of fans who relish every twist and turn of the dynamic duo’s adventures--whether they’re playing pranks on Bean’s sister, writing their own newspaper, or solving neighborhood mysteries. Now readers can add their own adventures and ideas to the mix with Ivy + Bean + Me. Funny prompts paired with hilarious illustrations make this journal the perfect place to get creative and join the fun.
Join us for an afternoon of games and fun! Bring a friend or come and make new ones while you play musical statues on the lawn and have a 3-legged race around the green before marching back to the store in a parade, led by a trumpet player, to greet Ivy + Bean author, Annie Barrows at 2:30 pm. There will be a photo booth for you and your friends to take silly pictures in, crafts to make and giveaway surprises! This event is perfect for friends ages 6-10, (and their parents!)

Annie Barrows grew up in Northern California, and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, with a degree in Medieval History. After earning an M.F.A. in Creative Writing at Mills College, she wrote a number of books for grown-ups. In 2003, Annie grew weary of grown-ups, and began to write for kids, which she found to be way more fun. Her first children’s book, Ivy and Bean, was an ALA Notable Book for 2007.
