"Jammie Jam" music concert and fundraiser for children and their families

Saturday, May 30th from 11:00a.m.-12:00 p.m. Community Church of Mill Valley, located across from Old Mill Park at 8 Olive Street

Dream Circle presents Jammie Jam, a free benefit concert featuring local children’s musicians Miss Kitty, Tim Cain, Cindy Cohen and Christopher Smith with a special guest performance by Performing Arts Academy of Marin dancer Clara Spitz. Children and parents of all ages are welcome to attend. Jammie Jam will be a morning of singing and dancing in our PJ’s to benefit Project Night Night, a San Francisco based charity that helps volunteers assemble and distribute Night Night Packages for homeless children. Clara Spitz, event organizer and a seventh grade student at Marin Montessori School, hopes to make a difference where she can, right here in Marin, by putting together 60 bags to give to homeless children in our community. Every Night Night Package consists of one tote bag filled with a new blanket and stuffed animal and new or lightly used book for children ages 0-12. Night Night Packages provide homeless children with security items that can help them feel safe and comforted when they need it the most. The addition of a book also supports early reading and encourages family bonding through reading together. Clara Spitz reveals, “When I was little, I always used to carry around a blanket with me and couldn’t sleep without it. I want other children to have the same kind of support I had. These children are always moving to different places and my hope is that the tote bags will hold some of their most cherished possessions and enable them to feel at home wherever they may be.” Admission to Jammie Jam is free, thanks to the generosity of the Dream Circle band, but attendants will be asked to bring new blankets and stuffed animals and/or gently used books to fill the Night Night Packages or complete packages can be purchased at the door for $20 each. All bags and proceeds will be donated to The Ritter Center and the Center for Domestic Peace in San Rafael. Light refreshments will be sold to offset the cost of the Project Night Night canvas tote bags. Come to the Community Church of Mill Valley, located across from Old Mill Park at 8 Olive Street, Mill Valley, on Saturday, May 30th, 2015 from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., and enjoy the singing and dancing all while supporting a very special cause.
