Learn Stop The Bleed, CPR Skills At Free Marin County Event

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Marin County residents can learn CPR and other lifesaving skills for free later this month as the annual Sidewalk CPR event returns for its 15th year.

The countywide event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 13 outdoor locations, where participants can learn hands-only CPR, how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED), Stop the Bleed techniques and how to administer naloxone to reverse an opioid overdose.

"It only takes a few minutes to learn how to save a life," said Marin County EMS specialist Christian Lombard. "Building a community of people who know what to do in an emergency can help keep a neighbor, friend or loved one alive."

The training is open to all ages and is organized by Marin County Health and Human Services and the Marin County EMS Agency in partnership with local fire agencies, hospitals and emergency response organizations.

Training locations include Corte Madera, Fairfax, Greenbrae, Larkspur, Marin City, Mill Valley, Muir Beach, Novato, Point Reyes Station, San Rafael, Sausalito, Stinson Beach and Tiburon.

County officials said the program is designed to give residents the confidence to step in during medical emergencies before first responders arrive.
