"Expect 'heavy metal' versions of 'Old MacDonald,' 'Twinkle Twinkle' and other kid favorites!" said Leela Pratt, Belvedere resident and founder of YPI, a nonprofit 501c3 corporation that offers innovative and cool music classes and jazz/rock band rehearsals year-round in Marin, Sonoma, San Francisco and Contra Costa counties.
According to Pratt, 50 of YPI students receive financial aid in support of the organization's mission: to create a community among children through music; to provide for ALL children, regardless of their economic circumstances, the best instruction in music; and through this to foster in each child a sense of competence, self-confidence, fulfillment and an open heart.
