Longtime Mill Valley Police Sergeant Zink Has Died

Mill Valley Police announced Thursday that Sergeant Terry Zink, who served residents of Mill Valley for 25 years, has died.

MILL VALLEY, CA – Mill Valley Police announced Thursday that Sergeant Terry Zink, who served residents of Mill Valley for 25 years, has died.

Zink began working for Mill Valley Police in 1975 and retired from the force in 2000.

"Sergeant Zink was well liked and respected by the community and his colleagues," the police department wrote in a post on Facebook. "Sgt. Zink appreciated hard work and demanded positive performance from his employees."

Zink was awarded the department's highest honor in 1984, the Medal of Valor, after saving the life of a fellow officer and fighting an armed suspect while the suspect attempted to kill both officers, the department said.

"Sergeant Zink will be greatly missed by friends and family," the department said.
