Man Attacks Roommate With Hammer, Charged With Attempted Murder In Marin County: Police
Police said the 82-year-old threatened to kill his roommate during a violent dispute.
SAN ANSELMO, CA — An 82-year-old San Anselmo man has been charged with attempted murder after police said he tried to kill his roommate during an argument Saturday morning.
Robert Anthony Prichard, 82, was charged Monday with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
Central Marin police said they responded around 10:30 a.m. to a residence on San Francisco Boulevard in San Anselmo after receiving a report of a woman screaming for help. The woman told officers the suspect tried to strike her with a hammer, according to police.

Investigators said the argument turned violent, and the suspect made statements indicating he intended to kill the woman.
A plea hearing is scheduled for Aug. 4.
