Marin DA to Go After Repeat DUI Offenders With New Grant Money
Funding from the grant will help the District Attorney's Office in handling cases throughout each step of the criminal process.

The Marin County District Attorney’s Office has received a grant to prosecute repeat DUI offenders and drivers involved in fatal or injury crashes.
The $388,726 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety will pay for a vertical prosecution team that will handle cases from arrest through sentencing, Marin County District Attorney Ed Berberian said.

“This grant has greatly impacted how we prosecute these unfortunately all too common crimes,” Berberian said regarding serial DUI drivers.
The cases specialized prosecutors will handle involve alcohol and drug impaired driving cases.

In 2013 there were four deaths and 94 serious injuries in DUI crashes in Marin County, Berberian said.
