Marin Man Accused in Sex Assault of Child Extradited From Guatemala
BREAKING: Marco Vicente-Gonzalez had fled Marin County sometime in 2015 while awaiting trial, according to San Rafael police.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — A man who fled to Guatemala from Marin County after his 2014 arrest for allegedly sexually assaulting a young child in San Rafael is back in custody, San Rafael police said Wednesday.
San Rafael police Lt. Alan Piombo said detectives from the San Rafael Police Department met FBI agents and a Marin County District Attorney inspector at the San Francisco International Airport Tuesday, where they took custody of 31-year-old former San Rafael resident Marco Abiagail Vicente-Gonzalez.
According to Piombo, Vicente-Gonzalez fled the United States sometime in 2015, after he was released from jail pending trial on charges that he sexually assaulted a young person known to him. At the time, he was ordered to surrender his passport but still fled, Piombo said.
