Mill Valley Among Best Beach Cities To Live In 2019: Report

MILL VALLEY, CA – Is beach-side living your dream? Luckily for Marin County residents, a new report declared Mill Valley as one of the best beach cities in the U.S.

Mill Valley ranked as the 12th best ocean town in the country and the fifth best in California, according to a report by WalletHub.

Experts at the personal finance website looked at affordability, as well as weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life to determine the best ocean and lakeside communities for living in the country. The study's authors compared 192 cities across 62 key indicators of livability, from housing costs to share of for-sale homes to quality of beach water.

The sample included cities with populations between 10,000 and 150,000 and at least one beach listed on TripAdvisor. The communities were then divided into two categories: ocean towns and lake towns.

When it came to the questions of affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health and quality of life, Mill Valley's total score was 60.48, ranking best in education and health as well as safety. Quality of life, economy and weather also scored well, but the city scored near the bottom of the list in the category of affordability.
