Mill Valley Recreation Asks For Art Submissions

Now that spring is here, it's time to paint. Mill Valley residents aged 50+ can submit one piece of art to the Active Adult 50+ Art Show.

MILL VALLEY, CA — It’s easy to feel like painting when you live in one of the world’s most scenic areas. Mill Valley Recreation is asking residents of Mill Valley and southern Marin County age 50 and older to submit one piece of artwork to be distributed in the Active Adult 50+ Art Show by Friday, April 8 at 5 p.m. A PDF application must also be submitted to mgiven@cityofmillvalley.org.

A reception honoring artists will be held Tuesday, May 3, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Mill Valley Community Center at 180 Camino Alto in Mill Valley.

Artists can submit 2-dimensional prints, photos, crafts, or paintings in acrylic, oil or watercolor. No table art will be accepted. Work must be backed with mounted wire, and should not exceed 32” x 36”, or 25 pounds.

Artists whose work has been accepted will be notified on April 15, and must deliver their work to the Mill Valley Community Center on Friday, April 29 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
