MMWD Board President Appointed to U.S. EPA’s Local Government Advisory Committee

Cynthia Koehler, a resident of Mill Valley, called her appointment to the role "a great opportunity for Marin County."

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Cynthia Koehler, president of the Marin Municipal Water District's Board of Directors, has been appointed by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency administrator Gina McCarthy to the EPA's Local Government Advisory Committee following numerous recommendations submitted to the EPA on Koehler's behalf by fellow elected representatives throughout California.

In her role on the committee, Koehler, a Mill Valley resident, will represent county-elected water district officials on matters relating to environmental services and programs. She will provide advice and recommendations to the EPA administrator about developing stronger and more productive partnerships with local governments in delivering environmental services and programs for communities.

"I’m honored to serve on the EPA’s Local Government Advisory Committee," said Koehler, who represents Division IV of Marin Municipal Water District’s services area, which includes Mill Valley, Sausalito and areas of unincorporated southern Marin.
