MARIN COUNTY, CA – A San Francisco woman on a motorcycle was killed when she was struck by two vehicles Monday night on Highway 101 in Marin County, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The Marin County Sheriff's Office-Coroner Division identified the motorcyclist as Marie Noelle Sigenthaler, 29, of San Francisco. Sigenthaler was riding south on the highway north of Tiburon Boulevard around 10 p.m. when she was struck from behind by a vehicle in the No. 2 lane and was ejected onto the No. 1 lane, CHP Officer Andrew Barclay said.

The driver of the Volkswagen stopped, Barclay said. A witness said a silver Toyota Prius hit the motorcycle first and fled the scene, but that is still under investigation, he said.
