Motorcyclist Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in Kentfield Crash
Officers said the motorcycle might have been traveling above the speed limit just prior to the crash, but the investigation is still ongoing

A 19-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured Friday in a crash on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in Kentfield.
Officers with the California Highway Patrol responded at 8:15 a.m. to a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle at the intersection of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Broadway.

The motorcyclist, identified as Benjamin Velasquez, 19, of Albany, suffered major, life-threatening injuries in the crash, according to the CHP. He was transported to a hospital for treatment.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as 46-year-old Amy Glass, of Kentfield, complained of pain following the crash but declined medical transport, according to the CHP.

Investigators said the preliminary investigation revealed Velasquez was riding his 1996 Honda CBR 900RR west on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, approaching Broadway, when Glass made a left turn at the intersection.
The front of the motorcycle crashed with the right front passenger door of Glass’ 2014 Audi Quattro, according to the CHP.
Officers said the motorcycle might have been traveling above the speed limit just prior to the crash, but the investigation is still ongoing. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to have played a factor in the crash.
