New Parking, Shuttle Reservation System Coming For Muir Woods
The new reservation system at the Muir Woods National Monument in Marin County aims to reduce overcrowding and traffic congestion.
MARIN COUNTY, CA – The National Park Service has selected a new parking and shuttle reservation system at the Muir Woods National Monument in Marin County.
The park service has selected San Diego-based Ace Parking Management Inc., which also will manage on-site parking at the popular tourist destination.
Its reservation system will proactively manage parking and visitor flow to address the overcrowding, traffic congestion and parking issues to protect the health of Muir Woods and the Redwood Creek watershed, according to the park service.

The reservation system, which will be implemented in early 2018, will allow visitors to plan their trip in advance, and all private vehicles and Muir Woods shuttle riders will need a reservation to visit the park.
Under the new reservation system, annual visits to Muir Woods are expected to be lower than in recent years, park service officials said. The system will operate year-round and reservations will be made through a
website and call center.
