Oakland A's, SF Giants Are Postseason Bound - Could We Get a Bay Bridge Series?

Bay Area's Major League Baseball teams have a chance to make headlines this fall.

The Oakland Athletics and San Francisco Giants have both clinched spots in the Major League Baseball playoffs. And while both team shave a long postseason road ahead of them to get there, many local baseball fans are pining for their first Bay Bridge Series in 23 years.

The A’s clinched the A.L. West Division crown Wednesday by defeating the Texas Ranger and the Giants had already won the N.L. West. The A's will travel to Detroit and play them Saturday and Sunday. The Giants will host the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday and Sunday.

Many Bay Area baseball fans think there could be another Bay Bridge series, as was the case in 1989 when the A’s swept the Giants in four games in what was known as the “earthquake series” for the Loma Prieta earthquake. Do you think another Bay Bridge series could happen? With both teams looking good, it’s certainly not out of the equation.
