ABOUT OCEAN RIDERS

Ocean Riders is a National Park Service (NPS) “Park Partner” and has been managing the historic Golden Gate Dairy site as a horse stable since 1998 on a special use permit from the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA). Members of Ocean Riders have been deeply committed to mitigating past environmental damages and take pride in their "green" horse-keeping methods which include collaborating with neighboring Green Gulch Farms and enriching their compost.

In 2015 Ocean Riders was granted a ten year lease to help further their long-term mission to become a climate-resilient equestrian facility, preserve the historic structures, and to share the history of the stable, their horses, and the surrounding local habitat with the public, especially those from under-resourced communities. Members of Ocean Riders volunteer their time and their horses to create opportunities for children and teens to experience the value of connecting with a horse, the natural world, and each other. The annual fundraiser supports this vision and allows Ocean Riders to enrich more lives with the power of horses and nature.
