Mill Valley, Calif.—The Mill Valley Public Library’s summer performance series for children and their families kicks into high gear this month with performances from the Throckmorton Youth Performers and magic man Dan Chan, an in-demand Bay Area magician.
On Sunday, June 15th, bring the whole family for a “Sunday Special” featuring the Throckmorton Youth Performers as they perform a showcase of musical numbers from their 2013-2014 season. The talented kids and young adults that make up the youth program of Mill Valley’s Throckmorton Theatre will take to the Library’s Main Reading Room at 11 am to perform selections from the Wizard of Oz, Footloose and Jesus Christ Superstar. Throckmorton Theatre’s youngest actors, dancers, and singers will be in attendance too to perform numbers from their productions of Cinderella and Annie Kids.
A second performance series, “Wednesdays on Stage,” makes its debut on June 25th with a truly magical performance. Make sure you’re at the outdoor amphitheater in Old Mill Park at 3:30 pm to see magician Dan Chan’s incredible act. From sleight-of-hand tricks to circus stunts, eye-popping juggling to the rare Chinese art of Bian Lian, Chan does it all. Come see why he’s been called “an intense, three-ring circus rolled into one man.”
