Parking Restrictions At Golden Gate Bridge Continue Through Labor Day

Personal vehicles are not allowed to park at Vista Point at the north end and the Welcome Center at the south end through Sept. 4.

BAY AREA, CA – Private parking restrictions at the Golden Gate Bridge's north and south parking lots are still in effect on weekends and will remain in effect through Labor Day, according to a district spokeswoman.

Personal vehicles are not allowed to park at Vista Point at the north end and the Welcome Center at the south end through Sept. 4.

The restrictions are intended to improve traffic flow across the span on busy summer weekends, said Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District spokeswoman Priya Clemens.

When vehicles queue for limited parking space, it creates traffic backups.

The restrictions continue to be in effect from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays for the rest of August and on Labor Day weekend through Sept. 4.

Tour buses are allowed to park at the Welcome Center lot and at Vista Point. Taxis and ride-hailing service vehicles are allowed to pick up and drop off passengers at the Welcome Center only, but not at Vista Point.

Taxi or ride-hailing staging or waiting are not allowed, according to Clemens.
