Red Flag Warning Extended For Mt. Tam

A red flag warning for ​Mount Tamalpais​​ has been extended through 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Marin Municipal Water District​.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – With warm and dry conditions raising the risk of wildfires, a red flag warning has been extended for Mount Tamalpais in Marin County.

The Marin Municipal Water District's watershed gates have been closed since Saturday due to a red flag warning. The warning has been extended through 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Marin Municipal Water District. Watershed gates will remain closed until the warning is lifted.

The area is experiencing high pressure, high winds and low humidity, resulting in a high fire danger. The warm and dry air mass over the area is expected to continue through at least Wednesday. Periods of moderate and gusty northeast winds are also expected at times.
