Last Sunday I learned how to paddle board at Petaluma's Annual "Day on the River." It looks a lot harder to do than it really is... really! Katie Forester who is a professional yoga teacher in Petaluma taught me how in less than 15 minutes. This sport is fun and so relaxing...especially the floating and drifting when you aren't actually paddling... Being young at heart requires trying and learning new things and/or living outside one's comfort zone, don't ya think? What new thing or activity have you learned about recently? Please Leave Your Comment...Thanks! I learned that every Sunday morning the Petaluma Parks Department (at the red barn across from The Foundry Wharf) allows the public to use its equipment there for no charge! You can give paddleboarding and/or kayaking a whirl. Aftwerwards have lunch at Tres Amigos in the Theatre Square. The restaurant with outdoor patio has a brand new chef and they serve Negro Modelo (my favorite beer ever!) on tap. The guac there rocks! I stayed overnight and heard the sound of the ocean all night long at a beach house on Tuesday night at Stinson. My job as a case manager for Community Action Marin had their annual staff retreat there. Although the weather the entire time was cloudy and grey Stinson is a magical world apart in Marin. I learn to appreciate it more every time I visit. I met a 90 pound Newfoundland puppy on the beach and that's us the new photo uploaded today. Tess the owner told me "every woman wants a man who will love her as much as The Great Gatsby!" Do You Agree? P.S. i saw a school of some 50 dolphins swimming very close to shore...people were mesmerized watching their fins go in and out of the sea! See you soon at the beach!
