Tam Champs Dominate All-MCAL Squads

Five girls from the first-place tennis team and four boys from the top soccer squad in the league are among 15 Red-tailed Hawks to claim first-team all-league distinctions.

Fifteen athletes, including five from girls tennis and four from boys soccer, garnered first-team All-Marin County Athletic League (MCAL) selections this week.

Tam’s was recognized with first-team honors for , and in singles and and in doubles. (singles) and - (doubles) earned second-team honors.

For Hayashi, a junior, it was the third consecutive year she landed on the All-MCAL first team.

Likewise, in boys soccer helped forward , midfielders and , and defender earn first-team all-league. The honor was nothing new for Melendez, who also was voted a spot on the first team last season.

Four members of Tam’s third-place boys water polo squad were voted all-league distinctions, led by first-teamers and goalie . Latimer also was a first-teamer last season.  was named to the second team, while was an honorable-mention choice.

Three-peater and , a second-time selection, were first-team picks off Tam’s third-place girls water polo team. made the honorable-mention list.

In football, senior defensive back and junior linebacker made the All-MCAL first team. Scypion also claimed a second-team spot as a running back, joining senior Dana Mills, an all-purpose selection, on the second unit.

Offensive linemen , Samuel Rivas and Will Haight, linebacker and defensive lineman were Red-tailed Hawks on the honorable-mention list.

was the lone Tam athlete honored off the girls volleyball team, earning a second-team all-league distinction.
