Tow-Truck Driver Killed On Hwy 101 In Marin County

"We are saddened to report that we are now investigating this as a fatal collision," the CHP said.

SAUSALITO, CA – A tow-truck driver was fatally struck Tuesday afternoon on the right-hand shoulder of southbound U.S. Highway 101 in Sausalito, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.

The crash, reported at about 2:25 p.m. on southbound Highway 101 near the Spencer Avenue off-ramp, occurred when a vehicle struck the tow truck and a second vehicle stopped on the right-hand shoulder resulting in the tow-truck driver's death, CHP Officer Andrew Barclay said.

"We are saddened to report that we are now investigating this as a fatal collision," the agency said.

As of mid-afternoon, the crash shut down the right two lanes of southbound 101 with no estimate given for when they would reopen.
